CJS 250 Week 5 Discussion Policies Procedures and Security Management
Are policies and procedures important in security management?
I agree, I believe that many policies (which are often very simplistic) are vital to securing environments. For example, policies governing passcodes and their strength levels are absolutely vital to securing information systems and buildings with code locks. A strong password is still the best defense against hackers and will protect personal information (Affordable Educators, 2013). A strong passcode is one that includes letters, numbers, and signs. It is amazing how many people use weak passcodes and how many companies fail to create policies governing this issue. References Affordable Educators. (2013).
